Content and photo guidelines
Last reviewed:
Massage Radar is a directory of professional massage. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to every listing on every plan, and our team reviews each listing against them before it goes live and whenever it is changed.
Photographs
- Professional presentation. Photos should show you, or your premises, as a client would see you at an appointment: professional attire, a clean setting, good light.
- Your face, clearly. For an independent therapist the main photo should show your face. It is what lets a client recognise you and what makes the verified badge mean something.
- Show your space. A photo of your treatment room, couch or venue is strongly encouraged and is what clients most want to see.
- Portrait or square. Upload portrait (taller than wide) or square images; landscape photos are cropped on listing cards.
- Your own images. Only photographs you took or have a licence to use. Stock images must be licensed, and photos of other people are not allowed except colleagues shown at work.
Text
- Describe treatments using their recognised names and what they involve. The treatments guide is a good reference.
- State only qualifications you hold and can evidence.
- Rates shown on the listing must be the rates charged.
- No phone numbers, email addresses or links inside the description; contact details go in the fields provided, and a website link is shown on the plans that include it.
Not allowed
- Explicit, intimate, suggestive or provocative content of any kind, in images or text, including euphemisms and coded language.
- Links, handles or phone numbers connected with adult content elsewhere.
- Photographs in underwear or swimwear, in bed, or with cropping, angles or poses that emphasise the body rather than the professional.
- Images of people who are not you or your colleagues, or copyrighted images you do not have the right to use.
- Heavily filtered, edited or poor-quality images, or images that do not represent the person or premises accurately.
- Claims of medical outcomes or cures.
Reviews
- Reviews must describe a real treatment the reviewer had with the listing. We read every one before publishing it and may contact the reviewer to check.
- Advertisers may not write, buy or solicit reviews of their own listing, nor post reviews of competitors. Doing so results in the listing being removed.
- Reviews that are abusive, discriminatory, sexual, or that name other people are not published.
- If you believe a published review is untrue, contact us with the details and we will look into it.
What happens if a listing breaks the rules
We remove offending photographs or text without notice and ask you to replace them. Repeated or serious breaches result in the listing being taken down and the account closed, without refund of the current month. Anything suggesting exploitation or illegal activity is reported to the authorities.
If you are unsure whether something is acceptable, ask us before uploading it. We would much rather answer a question than remove a photo.
